Now, I’m a 2-Month-Old Blogger

It’s two months since I achieved one of my long-cherished dreams. It’s two months since I’ve launched this blog. At this point, I’m extremely happy the way it has turned out for me. Obviously, blogging have earned me lot of nice friends (some close friends too) and some great readers like you. I’ve learned many things new. In the beginning, this was a way for me to put out my thoughts and feelings. Now, it’s my Passion.

Here’s some stats of my 2 months of wonderful blogging:

17K+ Views with 20K PageViews
32 Posts with over 150 comments
35 Subscribers
A PageRank of 4
and 10K of spam comments too !!

I thank each & everyone, especially you, for being a loyal reader at my blog. I heartily thank Shankar, Sathya, Sumesh & Nirmal, who have guided me in my starting days.

I hope to pursue my passion with more vigor and enthusiasm. Thanks for your encouragement and love.

Tech-Savvy Leaders : Need of the Hour

The world is changing, but some people can’t. It’s high time to end the meaningless party-politics prevailing in countries with immense potential for development, like India. We need our leaders to be techies. We want them to understand and utilize the new technologies and new ways of communication and interaction. Unfortunately, at present, most of them are stuck in traditional ways of thinking and action (more talk, less action).

As I have stated in my earlier posts, today’s youth is the receptor of all these technologies and innovations. They are People 2.0 (powered by connectivity and interaction along with actions), whereas today’s politicians and leaders are still People 1.0 (they say, we hear, nothing happens).

Hoping for the present leaders to change and adapt to the already-born new world is asking for too much. They can’t. They have to LogOut soon and today’s youth have to SignUp and LogIn a.s.a.p to lead the new world of positivity, prosperity and endless possibilities.

Some have already responded to the call:
** American Presidential Candidate Mr. Barack Obama has launched a cool Web 2.0 site for wider, efficient public interaction. Congrats to him!! (His YouTube channel has now 1crore+ views).

Technology, Internet & Generations

I’ve been walking for long, with these thoughts in my mind.
I would like to present it in front of you.

Internet came to the mainstream in early 1990s. And, it’s not long since Internet evolved into ‘what-it-is-now’.
Majority of the people keep themselves away from new technologies and innovations. Same happened in the case of internet too. Adults found it difficult to grasp and get along with the internet.

But soon, their kids got interested and found another world for themselves in internet, but the parents (adults) still
lagged. What i’m trying to state is that whenver therez an introduction of a new technology there is a time gap to grasp and adopt it. And here, in the case of internet, that time gap was longer for the adults; but children picked up.

That is, today’s youth and teenagers will be the group who enjoyed maximum freedom in internet, ever; as they are
the first receptors of the internet. Here, there is a situation of “Kids-know-adults-dont”.

But, When the today’s techie youth become adults, they carry this technology with them. And, of course, their kids too,
will know everything in web and here is the situation “Kids-know-but-adults-know-better”.
So, Today’s youth and teenagers will be the group who enjoyed maximum freedom in internet, ever. Isn’t it?

Recently, to be precise, on March 3rd, TechCrunch published a survey analysis on “Blogging and social life”. The finding was that,

“people felt they had better social support and friendship networks than those who did not blog”

Again,
the study found that some “potential bloggers” start from a less socially integrated position. Professor Susan Moore told the ABC:

“We found potential bloggers were less satisfied with their friendships and they felt less socially integrated, they didn’t feel as much part of a community as the people who weren’t interested in blogging,” Ms Moore said.

“They were also more likely to use venting or expressing your emotions as a way of coping.”

“It was as if they were saying ‘I’m going to do this blogging and it’s going to help me.”

All the above findings are true in my case, too. I was looking for some way for a venting and chose blogging as i was immensely interested in web, internet & computing.
