‘Video enthusiast’ is a phrase that’s seen on many people’s profiles on web, including mine. But, there’s more than just being an enthusiast. You could just earn a living with it. Web is the limitless supplier of opportunities and it just keeps providing you more and more ways of earning a living, doing things you’re passionate about. Now, it’s about videos.

We’ll look over some of the really HUGE opportunities on Web for anyone interested in making/producing videos. While blogging proves to be a great way of making money online, Videos are an even better choice, because of the very fact that video making is more enjoyable and fun than writing out posts frequently.

Now, the platforms are ready to take you off with your video-career on Web. No, I’m not talking about YouTube, or any other video sharing services, but about programmes and prospective online web businesses/startups like MetaCafe’s Producer Rewards, the (new) path-breaking In-Video AD technology by InnoVid and areas like ScreenCasting and Promos.

InnoVid is a new entry and deserves a BIG mention, for what they’ve come up with.

Innovid introduces the interactivity of the web into the static format of video, enabling advertisers and publishers to reach new level of engagements with their viewers.

Their mechanism introduces third-party ads into your videos, which could be blended in a variety of ways, so that, your videos get the attention it deserve, at the same time, serving relevant ads; maximising user-interaction, which works in favour of the advertiser, and in turn, to the publisher i.e. the one who made the video.

For example, if your video contains a scene with someone talking against a blank background (wall/screen), graphical ads could be put up on that wall/screen. See that, the tone of the video isn’t affected by a third-party graphic piece, since, it blends with the video smoothly. Some online compnay that sells wall paintings might make huge use of this model. There are many more AD modes avaiable to be included in the video. Again, for example, if there’s a table featured in a scene, a gadget (ad) could be placed on the table and when clicked, shows the ad in full.

How can one make money from this ?

Like AdSense ads are served amongst the contents of your blog, you may opt-in to serve ads on the videos you make. The ADs are not served the way, in-Video AD networks do now. It’s a whole lot new appraoch, ensuring zero distraction to loyal viewers, at the same time, ensuring guaranteed high user interaction.

That’s about Innovid. MetaCafe’s Producer Rewards programme has been quite succesful with the top user bagging$121,234 (and counting). The concept, is straight forward. You get paid for the videos you make. Not all. Your video needs to have at least 20,000 views and an average rating of 3.00, which is not a big deal, if your video is truly entertaining.

So far, we’ve discussed utilising the available platforms to make money off videos. But, you may even start your own business on web with videos just like Michael Pick does. He’s the man, behind the sweet Wordpress Screencasts. He recently joined Automattic (the people behind the cute & the insane – Wordpress). Recently, he was featured at Blog Design Studio in a wonderful Interview, where he gave tons of tips and guidelines regarding screen casting and the business aspects of the same.
Again, this is something really interesting and viable to be pursued as a career. The investment is minimal (since you don’t have to go shooting outdoors, with cast & crew). Screencasts are always liked, and as such it’s got a great, vibrant future. I still remember, how successful the Twones Screencast in introducing them to new users.

One who jumps into the Video industry on Web, won’t have to look back ever. I’m ready for offering any assistance regarding these. Just drop me a line through the Contact form or just use the comments area down.
