Nokia N97
This is one news that kept buzzing the web and the world for past couple of days. This one featuring, a full QWERTY keyboard, GPS, 5MP camera and many other drool-worthy stuff was launched during the Nokia World event at Barcelona, Spain. Within days of launch, N97 has become the gadget for many. You can have some photos and videos here.
It was the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, which has been in my mind for sometime now. But, I’ve to admit that N97 outperforms X1 by a great extent. N97 will cost about 34,000 INR
YouTube Symphony Orchestra
Collaboration online haven’t got any limits. Restating this, YouTube have come up with YouTube Symphony Orchestra. Musicians around the world are invited to be part of this historic event. Musicians may record, they performing, and upload it to YouTube. The wonderful video entries will be combined into the first ever collaborative virtual performance, and the world will select the best of the performances (through votes & ratings) to perform at New York City’s Carnegie Hall in April 2009, LIVE.

This, is sure to be a definitive event, that not only states the fact that YouTube is more of a generational icon, rather than a video sharing portal, but also the very fact that the WEB has got real life. The Web, is no more a collection of long textual pages, but, is a whole new world, which exists as a result of constatnt interaction and contribution by millions of wonderful people like you and me. This fact needed immense promotion, and it’s nothing other than awesomeness that YouTube came up with this.
A year back, there was the collaborative video project, GMail Behind the scenes which imagines how an email message travels around the world. I have participated in that.
Google FriendConnect
Google just launched Google Friendconnect, which essentially is a set of social interaction tools that could be run on blogs/sites. It aims at creating a community around a site, initiating deeper user interactions. FC mainly, target blogs. The friend connect looks like this in a blog :
You can join a site with your Google, Yahoo, AIM or OpenID account. Though, there are services like MyBlogLog (a Yahoo! company) and BlogCatalog that aims at building a community around blogs, the Google label on Friend Connect earned it some pretty huge coverage.
I haven’t yet implemented it. I’m for feedback from those who’ve implemented it. Isn’t it good to take advises ?
Christmas Giveaways
Hongkiat, one of my favourite, is having great Christmas Giveaways now. You could just win big this festive season. We’re to take part in the contest by commenting on specific posts. A random commentator will be chosen and given away the prizes.
There’s another chance for us to win big this Christmas. HP is running a MagicGiveaway programme, where 50 of the world’s top bloggers including Mr. Amit Agarwal, host contests on their blogs, and HP giving out prizes. You can find the list of participating blogs here.
Well, this makes the first of the Webbish posts. Do say your opinions and comments. I strongly hope, this would keep you updated on the web.
P.S. Hey, I just won $25 in cash in the contest at DamnGoodLists !
