Do Not Lose Your Invaluable Followers @ Twitter

Written by Aravind Jose T.  |  under Fresh Insights

If you are planning to use Twitter as your MicroBlog, you need to have a decent number of followers. Now, that does not happen overnight. It’ll take time to get you noticed at Twitter.

Till then, don’t give up, keep tweeting good things and you’ll get some nice followers. While reciprocating is a good thing, there’s absolutely no need of doing it to all your followers. Some (in fact, many) at twitter wants to have some noise around them and they follow a large number of people and send almost no updates. I’m not against them, it’s actually another way of using twitter. After all, there needs to someone to read the tweets you make, isn’t it !!

Now that you have some loyal followers ready to accept whatever you shout in 140 chars, you need to be more selective and cautious while tweeting. Problem arises when you tweet a live event or something of that sort which results in a large number of successive tweets in a short span of time. Some may straight-away “unfollow” you, since you’ve flooded their timeline.

It’s always fun to follow a live event through tweets, but, not all your followers might find it useful. So, if you are planning to tweet on a live event, let your followers know that in advance. It would not be bad if you suggest them to “Snooze you” if they aren’t interested.

Next time you plan to tweet something live, post a tweet like this:

Gonna tweet a live event. If Not Interested, just Snooze me for a Day. (Use TwitterSnooze.com)

Hope this small tip benefited you for a more beautiful twitter experience.
Have you got any ideas like this? (Or Have you been doing this already?)

I enjoyed Sathya’s wonderful and lively tweets of the IPL match at Chennai.

Thank God. I mean when you say this post is inspired by my tweets, just makes you go all weary and jittery. Surprisingly nobody unfollowed me. Given that twitter was in RFM(Reduced Functionality Mode) :P I was sure that’ I’d lose a lot of followers. Guess my followers are used to my blasts of tweets :P
